International Business

International business is another way to say globalization. It has always existed throughout human history to some degree, but it mostly took place on the same continents. Now that we’re a technologically advanced species, international business takes place between countries from all over the world. Not only does this refer to businesses in the private sector, but in the public and government sectors as well.

If you plan to work for a big company rather than a small local business, it will probably be involved with international trade or commerce. With the internet making ecommerce transactions easier, small companies have an easier way of participating in the international business community too.

International Business is a required course of the Doctorate in Business Administration program at American International Theism University. The course reviews the issues involved in conducting business in the international arena. You’ll learn how to conduct negotiations and transactions in an international business environment. Other covered topics of importance include global public relations strategies, organizational behavior, international human resources, ethics, social responsibility, law, and information technology.

When you conduct business with companies from other countries, you must be wary of their cultural, economic, and legal differences. What might be an acceptable way of conducting business in your own country might not be acceptable in their country, for example. As you take our International Business course, you will understand how to identify these differences and use them to grow your company in those countries.

You can earn approximately four credits toward your DBA degree after you complete this course. Since the classes are conducted online, you can choose when to log into class and participate in the discussions and work assignments. You’ll have six weeks to finish the classwork, so it should be plenty of time for most students with busy lives.
